You are VERY kind Kathy. Carl Sandburg, writing in the March, 1923, issue of The Atlantic Monthly, made a stab at describing poetry: " as the journal of a sea animal living on land, wanting to fly the air.... as a search for syllables to shoot at the barriers of the unknown and the unknowable.... "
