Anthony H Wilson (20 February 1950 Pendleton Salford– 10 August 2007 The Christie cancer hospital, Withington, Manchester). Wilson identified himself as a socialist and refused to pay for private healthcare on principle.
From Salford to Cambridge then back to Manchester for good. Our Mr Madchester co-founded Factory records and was the soul-founder of the Haçienda nightclub. Joy Division, New Order, Happy Mondays, Acid House all owed something to Tony.
Tony loved and respected Manchester and its people & it showed.
