The Blossoming of the North: Poems 2010–2022 (Poems by John E Marks) Hardcover — October 31, 2022
by John E Marks (Author), Chris D Proudfoot (Author)
The poems in this latest collection by Manchester poet John E Marks range in subject matter from the private to the public, from the political to the personal. There are poems using conventional forms such as the sonnet whilst other poems use free verse with rhyme. There are narrative poems and lyrical poems in this collection and an honesty of approach which I hope will entice readers into continuing to read. The poems are dedicated to the enduring memory of my life-long friend who took his own life in May 2022. Two poems written by Chris are included: ‘Choughs’ and ‘Lemon Light’.
