Hello Maia. I live in Manchester, England and I've been campaigning and advocationg for the Ezedi people since before the beginning of the genocidal attack by Daesh beginning in early August 2014. I've supported the YPG (People's Defense Units) and YPJ (Women's Protection Units). I've also sought to aid the campaign in the UK to remove the PKK from the government's list of proscribed terrorist organisations. I seek to emphasis how Erdogan's forces work with the remains of the Caliphate and are used to attack Kurdish/Ezedi people in Iraq and Syria. My main means of advocacy are writing and contributing to raising awareness of issues pertinent to the Ezedi cause. I also campaign for Assyrians and other Christian minorities in the Middle East.
I find Ezedi culture, art and religion attractive and often very beautiful. Their history, through the long centuries of Ottoman rule and Islamic persecution (the 74 genocides), is both often tragic but also a testament to their resilience, courage and love. I intend to visit Lalish and the tomb of the Sheikh Adi ibn Musafir before I die (I am 73 years old and not in the best of health). My very best wishes for all that YOU do on behalf of the Ezedi people. John
