What is your derivative today?

In this curve of time

Do we need a degree of differentiation

To establish a rate of change

With respect to time?

There are a number of ways

To fix this derivative:

In the end they all amount to the same

Number.

In the fourth dimension

The gradient of the curve

Is flat, time is still,

Unlike the curvature of spacetime

Where black holes appear

Or so the Schwarzschild radius shows:

Gravity is the mass of the object,

Times the speed of the light.

A singularity is a curvature,

A dark star.

Plain outer sight.

A child’s fright is set

In the deep-set night

So large that even

Numbers cannot solve ‘cos

General relativity theory breaks down

When we just stand around, and cry.
