“We must be listened to: above and beyond our personal experience, we have collectively witnessed a fundamental unexpected event, fundamental precisely because unexpected, not foreseen by anyone. It happened, therefore it can happen again: this is the core of what we have to say. It can happen, and it can happen everywhere.”
Primo Levi

Trapped in Gaza’s rubble a million children
Seek to survive the violence
Of what was a highly civilized people,
Who themselves suffered all the horror,
Cruelty and evil of the Shoah,
Carpet bomb children’s homes in revenge
For a savage butchery
That these children did not commit.
They are children. Just children.
How can the murder of children further any cause
Other than that of undiluted evil?
We must pray for the souls of the dead
And beg for the help of G-d instead
Of this never-ending slaughter of innocent children.
