So, why do you stop me?

Stop me for no reason

What do you think I’m committing?

Treason?

…..

I can see from the way

That you look at me

Exactly what you think of me.

You assume, you assume,

And you generalise

Is it the colour of my skin

Or the colour of my eyes?

……

Why don’t you use your mind?

And your own fucking eyes?

Let me tell you, I’m proud that I’m poor,

For I’ve stolen nothing,

Ripped nobody off,

My income is earned by the sweat of my brow

I read and I think and I write and I paint

………

I’m no victim

Of the rich man’s dream of riches,

Of total control and freedom restricted,.

That’s something obscene

…..

And I love the unscripted

Ebb and flow of the every day.

Life.

Try it some time

It’ll blow you away

…..

So, don’t come back

Until you’ve changed in that way.
